Headway Theme Review – A Premium WordPress Theme

Headway — The Drag & Drop Theme For WordPressMy site here at JonAlford.com runs on the Headway Theme for WordPress.

It’s a premium theme ($87 one-time) that I confidently endorse and recommend you try.

Please know that the Headway Theme links in this article are affiliate links that will result in a paid commission to me if you purchase through them. However, I use the product and sincerely recommend it.

It’s was easy to use right out of the metaphorical box and I was pleasantly surprised the advertising for it matched its ease of use.

While it allows you to customize until your heart’s content incorporating CSS and so forth, you don’t need to know any programming to build a stunning site.

The Headway Theme allows you to do the following:

  • Layout your site using content “leafs” or blocks of content that you can resize/rearrange
  • 1, 2, or 3-column layouts
  • Create page templates that you can link to for fast page creation
  • Create new pages with different layouts for customized landing pages

Enhanced features

  • It allows custom CSS, HTML, and PHP to make your site truly one-of-a-kind
  • Custom widgets and leafs for affiliate marketing, ad and image rotators or image sliders
  • An initial setup wizard to pick your font colors and sizes, and overall site framework
  • An intuitive visual editor: customize the look and feel of your site by drag and drop!

Support

  • Video tutorials and an active forum
  • Documentation and active Twitter community

The Headway Theme is a fantastic theme that I’ve had nearly zero problems with in my experience. The issues I’ve had were normally due to me wanting to customize certain functions and I’ve filled out support tickets which were answered quickly and solved my dilemma.

My initial complaint was a lack of video tutorials. When I first grabbed the theme I’d have to rely on YouTube tutorials to learn how to master the bits and pieces that weren’t immediately obvious.

That’s no longer a concern with the addition of video tutorials in the support area. Now I’m quite happy with the benefits of that resource.

Try it Now

The Headway Theme is a fantastic theme that I’ve had nearly zero problems with in my experience. Using other sites for inspiration, you can drag and drop the Headway layout to closely resemble just about any design you admire without knowing a line of code.

Ease-of-use.

Great support.

A high level of customization possible.

    Hey Jon!

I had heard of HeadWay themes before and I was always amazed at how simple it seemed to set up and customize your site (I also loved the jingle in the video – catchy :)

You’re definitely doing a great job on your site. Do you do all the graphics yourself?

      Hey Hector,

Headway does make it easy and there are plenty of tutorials around to help you out and support is great. Yes, everything here is done by me and I plan to give the site a complete overhaul in due time. I’m picky that way but I have paid work to handle first!

Hi Jon, it looks like a great theme. I have been using free themes since starting my own blog but thought lately that I ought to look into a paid theme. If it’s as easy to use as you say it might be the one for me as I am technically retarded.

    Enjoy the journey.

Mandy – ha! Headway makes page layout, color changes, and any customization I need pretty dummy proof. The first day with it you experiment with the tools and functionality that make it easy to change things. From then on it’s a snap (but our sites are never just the way we want them, are they?)

Pretty sharp theme. I’ve never had any dealings with it…in fact I’ve been using Thesis since day one on my site. And boy do I love it.

    Thanks for introducing Headway.

    Have a good one Jon.

      Hey Jk,

Sure man. I used Thesis for a while as well and still have some sites running it. The skins that are made for it make design a bit easier and fun. But I’m still a Headway fan first…heheh

Headway, clearly not all that, once you pay for the Headways theme and get your account details, then you get hit with extra hidden option fees, , not clear on the sales pitch at all. When you contact sales, the give you a BS story, after trying the Headway for 10 days its clear its not really drop and drag ,nor easy to build a website as advertised. When you ask for a refund , they state no refund.
This is not sour grapes, this is junk at best and a total waste of money.
    DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
